So I have been looking at getting myself into a newer vehicle for the past month or so.

So as I have been looking I can't really put my finger on what I want. It seems like my head is spinning trying to find out what I want to get into.

I've been looking at trucks, cars, suvs and kind of have it narrowed down for a car, or maybe the right mid-sized suv.

I would like to get something with some nice comforts, some get up and go to have some fun with, good on fuel, can be manual or auto, some cargo space is a bonus, also some factory warranty would be nice as well.

Just to give you guys an idea of what I have been looking at, I found a 06 Mazda 6 V6 GT fully loaded that I am considering looking at.

I am looking for suggestions/thoughts on vehicles that I may not of thought of and that you guys/gals might have yourself.

The transmission on Mazda6 is very shitty. Altima 3.5SE?

So, I took that Mazda 6 out for a test drive. Don't like it much at all, My 07 Accord feels better and it is only supposed to be lesser of a car. They want me to take the Mazda overnight later in the week, I may do that, but it seems like a waste of everyone's time.

Still at the drawing board..

These threads are funny - always end up with the s-2000 and wrx suggestions.

Here's a new one. ...

For only 35k more there is a Bellanca 17-30a Super Viking for sale in Texas.

If you are thinking of a V6 midsize sedan, I would go Accord and Altima over Camry and Mazda 6.

Camary is boring and 6 has a shitty engine and transmission.

If you are buying Altima, avoid 02s, stay with 03-06.

For example this 06 SE-R is only $19.9

http://www.autotrader.ca/used_cars_Cars_details/CALGARY_Alberta_2006_NISSAN_ALTIMA+3.5+SE-R+AUTO_2252371.html?srcid=5850034&source=27&pgno=1&srt=70&CompanyID=CT200433110592276&r=ontario

And a lot of other that can be had for less as well. Solid engine and interior for 03-04 is a bit ghetto but 05-06 are better.

I would like a wrx, if I can get a good deal on one within what my budget is. I think it would fill everything I want/need in what I am looking for.

I am not particularly looking for a midsize sedan, but it would fill everything I am looking for. I now know after today that the 6 isn't a great car, therefore its off the list now.

I don't really want to venture out of province to purchase anything. The closer it is to Red Deer the better. I am certainly willing to travel to Calgary/Edmonton for something though.

4doorj - Make me a sweet deal on your wrx. :D

Took a 04 Nissan Maxima for a drive today. Car is fully loaded 3.5L 6spd. I loved everything about the car. I am taking it to a shop tomorrow to be looked at front to back. Anything you guys know that they are known for having certain problems with?

I hope everything works out well. I will finally of found something that I like, with a good price.

Have you considered a 2010 Kia Forte SX? 175HP isn't *bad*, and it's right in your price range. Not only that, but it should be cheap to insure!

You could find a used WRX no problem for around $20,000. I love my Evo X and all so this is kind of fighting for the enemy lol but the subi is a great deal for 20k..

And for an even better deal if you want a WRX, talk to 4doorj... I can honestly say that you won’t find another WRX that has been babied as much as his is/was.

I haven't really checked into the Forte, but like a lot of people I still have the "Kia stigma". I am getting over the same "Hyundai stigma" but I don't know if I am ready to do the same to Kia yet lol.

It does look like he has taken very good care of his WRX, and I would like to have a WRX, although I am taking a very serious look at this Maxima I looked at yesterday and it has a very attractive price along with it too. I guess I'll have to see how things go.

The Maxima is a nice car, fairly quick but it won’t be nearly as fun as an AWD car :P I have driven all kinds of fun/fast FWD and RWD cars but once I got my Evo X... I don’t think I could go back to 2 wheel drive lol

Agree. I will only own AWD Cars again (unless of course its a sports car ;) haha)

I do agree with you guys, I think I would really like the wrx.
I am having the maxima inspected this afternoon and I guess we'll see what goes on from there.

Turns out I have a deadline, as I got called to head up north by Monday at the latest. So that kind of puts a rush on things, which I don't want to do, maybe I will end up in a wrx yet.;)

Shouldn't you be able to get a used 2004 STi in the low 20s? If not, it is holding it's value way better than I expected.

It's probably almost time-ex'd for engine overhaul.

I haven't looked much into STI's but with a quick seach on autotrader they are sticking around 25-30K.

As far as the Maxima goes, as long as we can make a deal, I think it is what I will get. The inspection came back flawless and I like the car, it suits everything I need out of a vehicle. I guess I will see what happens.

2 cars that I've own/owned, and still love.
I will always recommend these two cars. If you could own bother that would be better though.
