Modern Family (formerly known as My American Family) is an American single-camera mockumentary comedy TV series. The series currently airs 9:00 Wednesdays in the 2009-2010 season. The half-hour series, which was created by Christopher Lloyd and Steven Levitan, is produced by Fox Television Studios. The mockumentary follows the families of Jay Pritchett (Ed O'Neill), his daughter Claire Dunphy (Julie Bowen) and his son Mitchell Pritchett (Jesse Tyler Ferguson). While Claire is a homemaker mom in a traditional family, Jay is married to a much younger woman and raising a pre-teen stepson, and Mitchell and his boyfriend have adopted a Vietnamese baby. I think this show sucks....like three cliche sitcom themes combined into one show that tries to bite off Arrested Development.

I only watched first two episodes so far but I might try again alter and see if I change my mind. I think Community is a better new sitcom this year.

Old thread but I just powered through season 1 and I'm current with season 2. Besides South Park, this is easily one of the funniest shows on television in my opinion. The characters are all done really well. If you aren't paying attention for even a few seconds you might miss something subtle that is hilarious. Also, there is no laugh track which is absolutely fantastic. I think its up for some awards as well.

Manny, Phil, and Cameron (and his racist baby comments) are the funniest IMO haha.

New episode tomorrow BTW.

Excellent show. The funniest was when Cameron was singing "Ava Maria" at a wedding, which they simultaneously sync'd to Mitchell destroying their house trying to fight a pigeon. Classic.

actually 'Doc Brown' is not one of the producers, it's the other Christopher Lloyd lol

overall a wikked show, phil is super funny esp when the kids on the zip line kept on crashing into him and haley is actually smarter than i thought she was initially :rofl:
