Found a sweet website for those interested in seeing what songs were sampled.

Mostly for rap and hip hop. But be warned it could ruin your perception of Dr. Dre and others who seem to have sampled entire songs.

man, some songs you just think 'this has to be an original beat!' then it's like :(

i knew Timbaland makes some amazing beats and sampled a few things, but damn alot of the beats he's made for his songs and other artists (Aaliyah, missy etc) are more or less older soul/R&B songs.

That is the original sample database and the only one I use...

*edit* I like how that site links the youtube videos so you can hear the sample, the breaks is still better though...

I had the same reactions. Also spent many hours looking at songs. Downloaded a few of the original tracks too.
