Hot as fuck. I'd prefer those big black vents on the back be colour-matched but still gorgeous.

I don't agree with many people above, but at least lexus is trying to make stuff that's not outright boring :dunno:

It could also be a wrap. I have a friend who owns a decal and sign company and they are starting to "wrap" cars. They have recently wrapped a Ferrari in matte black, and last week did a Lambo in a matte white. the wrap can be removed if they get tired of it.

Not sure if I'd want to cover up that sexy Ferrari Red. But it's cheaper than a paint job, and you can always go back to normal when the "matte" fad wears out.

I actually like the interior but the exterior doesn't do it me, especially the front and back.

shadowz, where did you source these pictures from?

I dunno man, I actually really like the 370Z now. haha well there's no questions asked that this car is way better than a 370Z. The front end just reminds me of it. It also reminds me of the 2009 maxima.

Wow was expecting better. We'll have to see how it performs.

Honestly - I dislike this car's looks almost as much as the GTR; I think they are both butt ugly. With all the beautiful sports car designs in the past, how is it these companies have models which look like they were conceived by Hot Wheels (tm)?

Redlyne_mr2
10-20-2009, 03:27 PM
This is not the final version however it is very very close. It's being revealed tomorrow (tonight) in Tokyo. These are the 2 test cars that they tested around the Nurburghring.

i think they're not giving a shit as much for style and going for function, isn't that why the GTR is so fugly, didn't the designer say they were after function/aerodyn. not form.

idk to me that roofline looks pretty damn low/sleek and the inlet cowls look like they'll do their job.

edit: but that gap on the front of the hood, function aside, they couldn't close that up?

No triple the price of the GTR. This is in a totally different class than the GTR as well. Magazine journalists have been comparing it to the CGT, Mclaren's etc. I guess we'll have to see how it pans out.

I still question's Toyota/Lexus's pricing strategy. Then again NSX was overpriced too in everyone's mind and it still sold quite a few copies.

And as long as Toyota keep volume low (500), they should not have trouble selling them.

Yah this will end up being a collector car. It's to make a statement and show what they're capable of rather than make any actual money.

I'm digging the shape and the triple Zonda-wannabe exhaust but not so much the chainlink fence accents.

One of the best spottings ever! Kinda odd shaped though. The GTR knows its just agressive and Ferrari knows its smooth. This one tries to be both...its like Michelle Rodriguez....sexy yet bad ass.

I do not see the comparison to the RX8 or Z. I actually find the side to resemble the 360. :dunno:

Ya they're all presold, i would be surprised if we get more than 10 here in Canada. 120 are going to Japan and those are all spoken for as are all the ones going to the middle east. Not sure how the US allocation is doing.

If this just ends up being a car stored and never driven by a typical rich 70 year old LS driver just so he can say 'look what this boring company car do! And I only had to spend 400k!' then it will be really pathetic. :thumbsdow

I am definitely not feeling the looks either, but I am impressed Lexus actually did this. I didn't think it was going to happen.

.
Most cars over 200K spend most of their lives sitting. I never understood the logic of that either but it's the sad truth unfortunately.

"Distributor" is the company that brings in all the cars from Lexus/Toyota, and installs the factory options, before delivering it to the dealers (who installs dealer options). If it's got a distributor plate on it, it's pretty much the final product. Toyota would send them a few cars so they can train on final assembly so they can be ready for full production.

That's how it works in the States, might be different than Canada.
