I wish I could knock out people who litter.

That's sad to see.
I like my approach to litter. If i see someone drop shit on the ground I have no problem walking up to them with the item in my hand and telling them they dropped something.
We all share this little world, do your part.

Only time I litter is if it's biodegradeable. Like a bananna pel or apple core, stuff like that. I think its bad to litter with plastic and stuff though.
But, do you pull the little plastic sticker off your banana peel?

Agreed. I have my doubts about a seagull being able to swallow a whole bottle cap.

That's impressive. Either way, if the thing was dumb enough to eat plastic...

Regardless of people's posts speaking to Darwinism and such, we should not be littering. I remember this summer going for a hike while on vacation in BC near 100 Mile House and the teeenage girl that came for a hike with my son, daughter and myself asked why I was taking a large green garbage bag with me. I told her to watch and then she was disgusted and amazed that I was actually picking up other people's litter along the path we were hiking on.
My theory - pack out more then you leave behind (actually, we don't leave anything of our own behind - it all gets packed out). Interestingly enough, it was other's people's garbage along our rivers that made me give up fishing 20 years ago - got tired of doing more garbage picking then fishing. Have only recently taken up fishing and see nothing has changed all that much. Still pack out other people's garbage though - just feels like the right thing to do.

Some birds are smart (or desperate) enough to get through garbage bags.

One way to look at it, makes cleaning up the beaches that much easier, they collect it all for us and we can take a shovel and pick em up after.

Looks like it was constructed by some weirdo from Greenpeace who gets his/her jollies by playing with dead animals.

I've seen lots of dead birds/fish with plastic in their stomachs but never to that degree. :thumbsdow
