I read the linked webpage. Just to clarify, does this unit have any storage space in it?

No it does not have any storage on it.
It's quite a versatile unit in terms of codecs. I haven't had any issues with many of the files that I've tried.
There are 2 usb ports on it. It has HDMI, audio and RCA out. It does not have component out.

Read the link, it said there was updated firmware that could read new formats. Hence the question about RM. As well, does it have a digital (optical) out?
