I've had pretty straight teeth all my life, brush twice a day and I have a waterpick that I use 3-4 times a week... so I've never really bothered with going to the dentist.

Now I'm noticing that my wisdom teeth are starting to poke out and I'm getting some crowding... can someone recommend me a good dentist? Thanks!

I doubt there are many if any really bad dentists in Calgary. Maybe you should just try one that's convenient for you.

Dr. Cam Brothers (in McKenzie Towne) is great and has HOT hygienists.

Will have to drive out to Cochrane to see him though!

He pulled my wisdom tooth out last week, had 0 complications and was healed up in 4 days flat. Used the perfect amount of freezing (not where your whole face is frozen solid, just the 1 tooth!)

lol...

Tell me if anyone else noticed this...

Recession kicks in, and all of a sudden it's taking 2 times as long to get teeth cleaned, and the bills start being 2 times what they used to be...

(I'm not talking about any of the dentists recommended above)

I had my wisdom teeth pulled by a surgeon in the Marlborough professional building. I was back to normal in about 2-3 days, no swelling, bled a lot for the first day but that's about it. Stitches were those dissolving ones so they just disappeared on their own which is another plus IMO :D

 to this!

Archie is our family dentist and he is FANTASTIC! My grandfather was my dentist my whole life right up until about 2 years ago and going to a new dentist was very overhwhelming for me. I tried one near my place and it wasn't a great experience. Went to Archie (Dr. Tang) and I actually don't hate going to the dentist anymore! Which is no small feat considering how much freakin work I had to have re-done (my grandfather really should have retired sooner)

Any recommendations on a good dentist/dental hygienist combo in downtown?

I'll be phoning around to check on the prices. I have no problem paying close to what I am now, but don't want to pay double. I usually pay around $250 ($60 for the recall exmination, $115 for two units of scaling, $55 for one unit of polishing, and $30 for fluoride) for one visit of the year and $300 (same as last add bitewing x-rays) for the second visit.
