I had my house built last year and is now coming up for its one year inspection, can you tell me things I should look out for when going over the home inspection and/or your experiences with the inspector.

Anything that you caught but after the fact or things that one should definitly look out for?

Popping screws out of drywall.
Front steps sinking.
Leaky eves.
Shingles correctly installed.

Get a home inspector to do a report so you can hand it to the builder at the 1 year inspection.

If you have any cracks in the basement floor, now is the time to get the builder to fill 'em in.

Check the doors... do they still open & close without any binding? Are they loose? The house has had a chance to settle and often the doors go out of being flush & plumb...

Screw pops.. cracks in the drywall... etc...
