You should seriously consider chipping your C63, basically the 63 engine is detuned from the factory and chipping it unleashes to power to the same specs as the SL63/S63/CL63 etc etc. For 2k USD you can get an extra 60whp!

Yea, probably in the summer. Apparently they detuned the engine by modifying the throttle map. At WOT, the throttle bodies only open up 50%. By just changing those maps to go full throttle unleashes 50hp haha.

Lemme know how the C63 compares to the GTR when yours arrives. I was looking at getting the GTR over the C63, but I couldn't justify 2 cars that are essentially 2 seaters.

Btw, how do you find the clearcoat (over time) in terms of swirls and micro-marring? Benz's use a cermi-hard clear, so it shouldn't marr too easily..........

My M3 had pretty bad orange peel and rock chips so easily with the factory paint. When I got a full repaint from Contemporary Coachworks, it looked 1000x better. Of course when I fully 3M'd the car, the orange peel came back from the plastic haha.

I really hate new car paint nowadays. Brutal.

This is my first Benz with the new hard clear, but since I'll be 3M'ing the whole car, I doubt I'll ever know... :D

I got my 335 for 1.5% leasing it works out to about 750/month with 0 down.

The C63 I ordered is about 1300/month TAX IN. I don't remember @ what rate though but i'm contemplating on waiting for the new one to come out because they have a nicer dash with stitching, not too concerned about the extra 30 hp since i'm going to be modding it anyways.

I've had considerable seat time behind my friend's C63 that he let borrow while he was away on vacation.

Pros of C63:
-Lots of low end torque
-Very supportive seats
-V8 sound is intoxicating
-Has all the comfort features you expect from a MB
-Very very good DD
-Lots of power on tap
-Good value when comparing to M3/IS-F

Cons:
-Terrible gas mileage
-Prepare to order new rear tires every 6 months
-Interior is still has a bit too much plastic
-Handling is decent but just doesn't have the same balance as other cars i.e. M3/GTR

Pros of GTR:
-Performance!!!!!!
-Good value when compared to 911 turbo etc
-Good aftermarket support
-Big trunk space prob around the same size as the C63
-Cool gizmos on the electronic display i.e, G-force meter, boost, all oil temps, water temps, steering angle etc etc
-Easy to modify

Cons of GTR:
-Although the tranny is considered good for duel clutch, still can't replace an automatic tranny for city driving
-Worse than C63 gas consumption
-It's a "nissan"
-Mod at your own risk because of black box which gathers all data in the car
-Useless back seats

Let me start by saying that both cars are the best bang for buck in it's class and you can't really go wrong with either car. However, after saying that the GTR IMHO is the car I look forward to driving the most and is probably the most used car in my garage. Before I start talking about performance, I should tell everyone that my GTR has been modified and is running about 650 hp. There are only a handful of cars that can beat my GTR (Enzo, CGT, SLR etc)at it's current level. The performance aspect of the car is amazing, it handles like it's on rails and once the boost comes in, your body will be sucked back into a different timezone. Even though 650hp sounds like alot, it's very easy to handle with no drama at all. The great thing about the GTR is that you have all the luxury features the vehicle is suppose to have without any of the drawbacks of a highly modified car.

The C63 sounds amazing, the moment you fire up that V8 and blip the throttle the exhaust tone is intoxicating. Getting into the car your body is wrapped in one of the most supportive seats i've ever sat in, it holds very well in the corners. The NA engine is really brought alive with just an ECU tune + exhaust. In a straight line you will be able to beat the majority of the cars on the road and to the unsuspecting eye, most people think it's just another slow MB and doesn't try that much attention. The C63 is the best for blending in with the rest and only those that have an interest in cars will know what it's really capable of.

Both cars are great cars but at the end of the day they serve different purposes, the C63 is the perfect car to run around the city in, to pick up groceries etc and take the family around albeit who ever is sitting in the back may not be the most comfortable but at least you can still use the back seats. The transmission is smooth and you have limitless torque at the prod of the throttle.

The GTR is a track monster, one of the main reasons why I bought it was to modify, spending a few thousand in mods transforms the car into supercar territory performance for a fraction of the price. It's a car that you can drive to the driving range with 2 golf bags and then head to the track and have a blast then go over to the drag strip and run with the best of the drag cars. The GTR is like a swiss army knife, you can use it in any situation. Those that know the GTR will not stop taking pics of the car and drive which is why I have 20% tint on the windows, I like to have my privacy. The transmission sucks when you are driving in stop-go traffic and don't expect to use the back seats at all.

You can't really say one car is better than the other, it's a matter of which fits your lifestyle more and the type of driving you do. Also, what is more important to you, luxury/comfort or performance/exclusivity

Basically, I drove the M3 all summer. When I dropped the M3 off for some work and drove the GTI (my winter car) I couldn't stand driving a car with only 200hp. What used to be a blast of a car to drive suddenly became so boring. I got completely fucked over spoiled by the M3 lol.

So... went to the dealer, transferred my deposit to the C63 (I still had a deposit for the non existent SLK63 lol) and ordered it up.

Touch up paint and 3M. You can't see the touch up paint once it's 3M'd over. Had this happen to my last new car, drove it from dealer to 3M place and got a bad rock chip. I couldn't tell after the 3M.

The macro photography, along with a black car, makes it look WAY worse than it actually is. It's better than BMW's, and about on par with Porsches. I looked at a black Carrera GT yesterday and same thing. Brutal.
