ahh the crossroads of life.
i have a 90 talon tsi fwd and i've been able to cut down the use of my car to once a week. seeing as how i barely use it, i've been thinking of getting an fc rx7. the only thing holding me back from getting one before was the fact that they sucked on gas and are temperamental. but, i've always liked the look, and when my dad had one, i've loved the way they drived. since i barely use my car, it now becomes somewhat more reasonable. anyways, what's your guys' opinion? keep the talon or get an fc?

tough. well try this first. if you can sell the talon for what you want, then go for it, then try and get and FC for what you willing to pay. if both those work out then you in business. Ill tell you though, the first part is the hardest. It mui deficil to sell a car right now, especially a modded one.

I'd say FC, but the only thing I have against them is the rotary engine. It's not a simple engine to service. But if your dad had one before then he would probably know a good enough mechanic for it.

Good point !

are you going to get a FC turbo or non-turbo ?
if getting a non turbo FC .. then keep your Talon !

FC Turbo is sexy looking, fast, good handling, well made, and tasty interior, I sill miss mine ..
But .. fixing cost is up there .. :(

fc for sure was my firstcar and had been my fastest of all carsI've owned. i've had an explorer (slow), accord (not as slow), integra (somewhat fast) , 96 civic (my car now) and the fc routinely brought it up to like 255 which is a rush let me tell you and very smooth engine. also once you get into it rotories aren't that bad

if you plan on getting an NA get an 89-91 model. they have a different intake system.

One day a few months back I was swapping cars around one day with a friend, just moving them into strorage and such. The two car's were the same as you are discussing. A TSI and a TII.

It was no contest, the FC just feels like a better car, without it even running or moving. The talon felt like a grocery getter, it just didnt have what the FC had, I don't think I can put it into words but it really was an eye opener.

I am of course a bit biased but seriously see if you can't ride in the two back to back to back, I am pretty confident what decision you'll make.

Now everyone makes a big deal about the rotary motor stuff. Other than the motor the car is a car, it has all the same stuff. And the motor isnt that difficult to deal with, keep the oil topped up, make sure you keep an eye on O2 readings on a turbo car, and your golden. I know a non turbo car that literally lives it's life in the redline, Hey Max;) And it runs like a top and never complains.

FC all the way, its the most entertaining car I have driven daily thus far. My FC isn't bad on gas, infact its pretty freakin good on long trips. No car should be good on gas if you are baggin on it, so that sort of comparison is irrellevant IMO.

again i will voice my opinion. fc all the way. by far the funnest car I've owned. Anyways there aint nothing like being able to wipe the back out like that. I don't think it would be as easy or as fun in a tsi. Anyways get an fc and do it up drifter style yo
