SO in. They had their concert from LA broadcasted on Youtube live last night. 96,000 people at the show. It was fucking amazing.

Look at the rest of the tour stops... New York, Miami, Paris, Athens, London... Edmonton. Awesome.

Why deadmonton?! I'm in regardless, probably the only time I'll have a chance to see them live. Shitty seats are probably ~200 per tho :(

Yeah their live performance is amazing. I went to the elevation tour when it was in Calgary, one of the best shows I have been to. I didn't like their last two albums though, decision decision. Wonder who's doing the opening act, BEP? MUSE?

Because Calgarians who live near the stadium are whiners. Our city has one of the most strict bylaws when it comes to noise in the world.

No, because the Saddledome does not conform to most stadium structures, making it a challenge for the stage show to be moved in. That's why recent concerts like Britney Spears and the like are all in Edmonton. That's what I heard on the radio, anyways.

I heard that as well, something about the structure not being able to handle much more weight on the ceiling to hang speakers off of.

They would not be playing the Saddledome.

This is a stadium tour. Their stage alone takes 300 people to assemble.

This. I'm sure the actual stage is probably higher than the S.Dome anyway. They played in Edm. during Popmart; again, another stadium tour, and again, McMahon is too close to residential 'hoods.

Commonwealth is right beside houses as well. Commonwealth is simply 50% bigger and way nicer so it ends up getting more of the big concerts like this.

And the Rexall over Saddledome thing has been mentioned as well.

And calling Edmonton 'Deadmonton' is pretty lame when you are talking all the concerts Edmonton gets vs Calgary. It obviously isn't the dead city in that regard. :poosie:

And I am not trying to start a Calgary vs Edmonton argument and I am not saying Edmonton is better than Calgary for everything. I am from Calgary and living in Edmonton right now. I just get sick of ignorant comments (from people in both cities).

It's Edmonton, City of Champions. I have to give them a hard time:rofl:

^ single biggest thing I hate about Edmonton. I don't know why they just can't let that go. It really is embarrassing.

I don't think there is a venue in Calgary that can handle the 360 stage setup U2 has.

I always say I am willing to go up to Edmonton for: The Police, AC/DC...but this time I'm actually going to make it happen.

Even though I think Bono and The Edge are both arrogant douche bags. Though, that comes along with being a rock star I guess.

No presale codes. You needed to be a member of the U2 fan club. I have been a member for a couple of years, and I am only given options on four tickets in world. The codes are really restrictive, one special code per membership, your CC needs to be the same as the membership name and ID is needed to take delivery from the courier service who deliver to your door.

I will take a pass on the NA concerts, seeing them in Europe or Asia as a vacation.

Join fan clubs if you want the best ticket to your favourite acts. It is the only way.

Tickets are priced for EDM from $30 to $250.

I doubt anyone will give any out.
You have to be a member of the U2 Fan club, and you pay $50 annually for that.

If anyone gives one out... They'd probably expect something out of it.

wtf... I think I just got 4 $55 GA tickets... they are listed as 'field' though.

Edit: Just checked... yep these tickets are legit. floor seats to U2 for $55 is ridiculous. I just did the option to pay the $60 for the membership to the fan club while searching for tickets. Buying 4 tickets is only an extra $15 ea.

The show in van was ridiculous. The stage was huge. Best show ever.
