I need to hook up a HDTV to a computer

Its a 720p older sony HDTV that doesn't take in VGA or DVI
but it does have HDMI and component inputs

I have a old athlon xp 2500 based system
but need a video card with component video TV outs ie, 9800 radeon class, AGP

HDMI was considered, but sending sound over hdmi is kinda iffy and is really only supported in the newer ati cards which are pci-e or integrated on motherboards. Sound needs to go into the TV to be played in the integrated speakers (I know they suck, but this is for parents). With component I can just hook up regular stereo RCA plugs from the soundcard.

I don't care about gaming speed at all
just so it can display 720p through component in widescreen format

Does anyone have a old card they are willing to get rid of?

OR, a cheap PCI-E based system so I can slap a PCI-E HDMI or Component video card. Even better, something with HDMI onboard.

You can use HDMI and then a standard 3.5mm plug to RCA (white/red) for sound. You do not have to use HDMI sound if you don't want to, it is easily adjustable in the control panel.
