i want to put fake brick over drywall in my condo, i have seen it done in restaurants and on tv, it looks just like brick but its really skinny and light so you don't need the mesh behind it to hold it onto the wall. Home depot does not have it and im not sure where else to look, there is some that has that fine thread that holds sheets of the brick in place to make it easier to put in place and spaces it out for you.

You can buy cheap looking ones at Rona, but they look pretty bad.

City Tile has some really nice looking ones though. They look more real, like you laid bricks, or slate. i'm going to do the back of my bar with it, lots more variation in how much the "bricks" stick out.

You will probably still need to re-enforce the wall though, i would.

They're just extremely "textured" wall tiles.

Post pics after.

I think interior brick looks really sharp if done right.

Go to I-XL Masonary, they have some good stuff there. A lot of home builders and mason's go there for materials

I agree with Jayson, go to IXL they have real brick thinly sliced. Fasten wire mesh to the studs, apply a scratch coat and stick the bricks on with mud

Put water resistant drywall first and then the mesh..
Extra structure when some falls against it.
Trust me on this one.

That would look great!

I was at rona a few weeks ago looking for some stone to put around my fireplace. I remember seeing the faux-brick there on sale.
iirc: Something like $30-40 for 10-15 sq/ft?
They are really light like bath tile.
