Priced one out, loaded, these thing are @ the starting price of C63. $5K different if equally equipped.

Wow why would Audi advertise these ratings as if they where at the Crank when they are truly at the Wheels. :dunno:

With an estimated 20% Drive Train loss (AWD) this thing is putting out about 395hp and 405ftlbs  Now that's the numbers you want to advertise to the 90% of the population that doesn't know there is a difference between Crank horsepower and Wheel horsepower.

I was thinking of getting one... Haven't gone to the dealer yet to check on anything, but I was just thinking about that too... with rages C63 thread coming, so many options once you get around that price. Still love the S4 though.

Closer to $10K difference.

I'm seriously thinking of getting one in Spring. I'm gonna walk in there in one of my coors light T-shirts i got for free in one of those beer cases, its ripped a bit too, I wanna see if they'll actually pay attention to me in there.

Every time I go in there normally dressed they don't even look at me...

I thought the S4 started at around $53k?

only a reason for them to pay less attention to you. You're not a pro athlete or a movie star, and they know that. So if you show up to a luxury dealership looking like a bum then you'll be treated like one.

I loaded S4 and comes out to just shy of $71K.

I think C63 with all options is $74K

I'm no balla but business casual got attention. But if they know there are better prospects, you'll be ignored.

it's odd that you're comparing the s4 to the c63, the s4 is a lot closer in price to the c350 than the c63...

I would if their prices are not that close.

The S4 is priced against a comparatively equipped 335xi, that is what they based it on.
S4 base is $52.5k, 335xi base is $52.0k, C63 base is $63.5k
But of course you want options on the S4 so it would be dumb not to just get the C63.

Don't forget that is a Dynapack so it's not wheel horsepower.

Still impressive though!

I have a 2006 b7 S4, I love the car to death.
Damn, AWHP?. I know the v8(b6-b7) puts out more power but the v6 supercharged is much more economical supposebly. I dont think my v8 would put that down to the wheels without my mods. Still got to love the sound of the v8 over the new engine.

So they can "beat" 335's in reviews and comparos. Out of the big 3 German brands, Audi hp has always been lacking. With relatively the same if not slightly more advertised hp than competitors, they still ended up always being slower. Now their performance and pricing is on par.

Then options on the C63? Now you're up to $70k...it would now be dumb not to get the RS4, but then you need option, so you might as well get the R8? Simple logic!

But the C63 is only ~$78k loaded and the S4 is $73k loaded. I know $5k is not a small amount, but at the price point of theses cars, it's really not THAT much.

This simple logic has got me shopping for a $50K+ car to a $60K+ car and now on the verge of breaking $70K.

Well, the C63 optioned out is 72, so the $94k rs4 does not work here:dunno:
Dont trash the logic:rofl:

This thread is about the S4. Not a Mercedes. Just because a few mods/admins get a C63 not all of you have to love it just because.

Nice audi.

Hmmm I love the interior of the S4, and the rear . I like the MB better for the price, but like others have suggested, most people have a budget for a reason, if you keep adding 5G everytime you see something better, you will end up with something you can't even afford anymore.:dunno:

Those dyno numbers are BS.

And I'm not just some bitter guy that wants to think the old version of the car was better ;)

They perform better than the V8 version in all categories, especially handling by the sounds of it.

The problem is, that would have it making more awhp than the past RS4... which is great until you realize the heavier RS4 walks all over it in a race.

Lots of debate over these numbers, but it looks like APR's dyno is yet again reading way too high.

I like APR for the most part, they make solid stuff and stand behind it, but anyone that has modded VW's or Audis knows their dyno numbers are always bunk.
