View Full Version : Help me decide on what phone

Sony Z600, or Samsung V208.. My dad's coming home for Xmas and he's giving each family member a phone.. My mom's gettin jacked because she's with telus mwahaha.

Anyways, I went to XE.com to check up on the currency exchange.

the Z600 will cost about 576 bucks, the Samsung V208 will cost 600 bucks.

I'm sort of swaying towards the Z600 because of the great reviews I've read online, and I've read reviews that the V208 isn't as good.. and obviously isn't as new either.

Anyways, I know some of you guys out there know your shit about cell phones, so that's why I asked.. let me know! thanx.

I'd go with the Z600 - it looks really really good.

But I really like the RF performance on the samsungs. If it's features you want, get the Z600, but otherwise, for clarity, reception, and build quality, sony has NOTHING on Samsung.

I'm hoping to pick up a Z600 this week so I'll let you know what I think of it.

As for Samsung there phone are exactly as Weapon_R has described them. I'll back him on that from personal experience.

I'm almost scared to give up my S200 fearing the Z600 RF won't hold up.

Pretty much. I don't think Sony Ericsson has ever made a cell phone with excellent RF performance, and the Z600 doesn't seem to be any exception.

Well it will make a call but I don't think it can compare to the performance I got out of my S200. That's all I meant.

yeah, can't imagine the markup they have at Omegacell.. like i said, it's only 576 bucks straight from HK. that ebay auction is good, cept what the hell, 40 bucks for shipping?

Hmmm the phone doesn't ship from within Canada so you would have to pay duty/taxes and they want $40.00 USD for shipping.

Not a very good deal.
