Looking for a different colour for this, preferably white or maybe silver (might consider some other colours possibly). Must be the full housing, including keyboard etc. Would love it if the seller can install as well, I heard it's not hard and doesn't take long but I don't trust myself. Or worst case, at least direct me to the instructions for doing so myself and supply me with the tools needed. Will pay the right price for this.

Example of the kind of housing I am looking at, can be seen at the links below.

17.50 is pretty cheap for full housing including the back cover, bezel, trackball and keyboard and the shipping is free (mind you it will take a few weeks to ship from HK). Why not order that set? I've seen other packages selling for close 25$ without the trackball. Either way that is a pretty good deal. on ebay.

Here is a really good video showing you how to disassemble:

If you get the housing and need tools to use or help I can give you a hand. I did mine a week ago and it was very easy.

Kermit had a thread for white housing as well, not too sure if he has sold it yet. Doesn't come with a white keyboard, but White housing with an original black keyboard looks pretty badass.

Yea I was speaking to him about that housing, but just didn't like the fact it wasn't a full one. Tried to google pics with white housing and black keyboard, it didn't really look that great for my liking.

And yea ebay one is deff. super cheap although like you mentioned it'll take forever and I can't really be bothered with waiting and stuff. Let's see if I can't find anyone else on here then I might just order than one and take you up on your offer for helping with the install. Thanks.

What colour is yours, how does it look?

I installed new silver housing (like the original) but without the Rogers branding on the bottom piece. I also installed a snakeskin black battery cover, silver keyboard and a green trackball. It looks really good. It was the exact look I was going for. Only issue is my lcd screen is a bit scratched up which I could order and replace at a later date. I did a fair amount of looking around before I settled on a look.

If need be You could also order the keyboard seperate as well. I bought from the seller EverythingBlackBerry on ebay which is stationed in San Franciso and it was alot faster shipping than the other pieces which came from HK.

Anyways good luck with the hunt. Let me know if you need a hand when you are ready for an install.

Wow that sound like a super custom piece, do you have pics to share? Intrigued about how it looks now.

I don't think I'll mix and match. I'd prefer either all white or all silver'ish like in the first link I posted. I will check this seller you posted and see if he has any that I like.

I was definitely going for a unique look apart from the regular bolds out there. I don't have any pics right now but I could take a few later tonight and post.

Wow that looks totally cool man! Now I wanna customize mine even more, just hope can find some thing local so that I don't have to waste too much time waiting for the housing and then finding someone to install it. lol

I am just wondering if I order this one here

http://cgi.ebay.ca/OEM-White-Blackberry-9000-Bold-Full-Housing-Cover-KEY_W0QQitemZ220492139402QQcmdZViewItemQQptZPDA_Accessories?hash=item33565b0b8a#ht_3604wt_941

Would that be enough? I mean it would change the whole housing I am looking to change right and the internal parts will be original one's but outside it will all be white instead of stock right?

And how hard or easy is it to do the change by myself? They provide the tools so that's good however is it easy enough and can be done by myself?

It looks to me like that one will work. The only problem I see is it comes with the LCD lens which is the piece that saids 'blackberry' on it and it is always glued to the LCD screen. The problem here is when installing the housing It might be next to impossible to remove the stock Lens off your current LCD due to the glue that it's stuck together with. So if you did an install you might not be able to install that white Lens which would make the areas around the screen all white.

Other than that the set comes with everything you need to do the install. It's definitely easy to do yourself. It didn't take me long to learn and I'm comfortable opening them up now to change piecees.

Oh so area on the top of the screen you mean? Well that would suck cause stock one is all black and if I can't change to white, that means everything else would be white but that being black, I don't think I want it to look that way though.

yes, that's right, there would be a bit of black left on your modded bold.

I've taken a look around if there was a way possible to remove the lens on the LCD but I haven't been able to find anything like that. When I was looking at mine, I tried to pry the lens off the lcd but gave up after realizing that it would be tough to manage to get it off without breaking it. Even if you managed to get it off you would run into the issue of finding a way to get the lens bonded back to the lcd. To be honest I don't know why they sell the lens when you would need a lot of patience and skill to remove it without breaking the lcd.

Here is a thread regarding the same predicament:
http://forums.crackberry.com/f83/ask-change-lcd-lens-153268/index2.html

I don't think a white bold with a small amount of black in it would look that bad. When the LCD is off or not lit your screen will look bloack anyways. But that's just a personal preference.

One final option you would have would be to see if you can find a white lcd replacement. I haven't seen any white lcds for sale on the net, or ebay, but its very easy to find the black ones. I'm not sure how long the oem white bold has been on the market but in a while I would not be surprised to see white replacements for sale. One other thing to note is there are 3 different versions of the bold LCD which are hardware specific to your phone. So to replace your LCD you would need to have an exact model match which is denoted by the numbers on the back of your lcd once you remove it from the system board.

Ohhh crap that would seem to get way too complicated eh. So perhaps I should just order this one and replace everything minus just that little lcd part? I mean like you said it would have been black when screen turned off.

I will try to find some pictures maybe so that I can get an idea what it would look like. Also do you think you can help me out with the installation and i'll buy you a six pack or something as a thank you :D

Or if you think it's easy enough then direct me to instructions and I'll just go at it on my own lol

EDIT: I found another one here
http://cgi.ebay.ca/GENUINE-HOUSING-COVER-FOR-BLACKBERRY-BOLD-9000-FULLWHIT_W0QQitemZ250518102052QQcmdZViewItemQQptZPDA_Accessories?hash=item3a540ae024#ht_1671wt_1167

What are all the black parts inside the housing? Do i need those? That LCD problem would still be there even with this one right, since the top part where it says blackberry is essentially the same? Would this be a better purchase than the other one, this is a bit more expensive.

Yeah it would be! I looked at replacing my lens as well as it's fairly scratched up but gave up on that idea. Mine is a little easier to work with as I wanted to keep the lens black so an lcd replacement in my future will probably happen.

Sure thing, I'll help you with the install. Just let me know when you are ready!

The black inside piece you are seeing is the middle chassis. It is what the system board for the bold attaches to. You don't really need it as you will use the one that is currently inside your system. If I were you i'd grab the other housing as it's a bit cheaper and you don't need that extra replacement piece.

As for the LCD and Lens you are correct that you would have the same issue as I mentioned above. You would still be using your existing LCD which has that oem black lens already on it.
