hey my car got written off a while ago and i need to buy a new one, basically what im looking for is a car or small suv, with decent k, import or domestic, a wagon or hatch would be awesome, motor swaps would be completely acceptable as well, but a manual transmission is required, ive been pm'ing sellers on here with little success so i figured i would try having you guys come to me. thanks alot!

I think you need to split the first category.
The Ztec powered Focus is a in a different league and much better car that the econo-crap Cavalier/Sunfire.
Don't believe me? Go drive a ZX3 and a Sunfire GT back to back.

Same league as the econoboxes that are the sunfire/cavalier, only they made it bigger, not better.

Focus ZX3 is probably your best bet. They are great cars stock, and have a lot of aftermarket support. Check out the SVT suspension package (new springs/struts/sway bar) that can be had for something like $130 shipped from a ford dealership in the states.

How about an older Honda Prelude? This isn't mine but seems like a much better buy than any garbage alero

I drove focus ZX3 for years - all the way through University and a little after. It was a great little car in every way.

Another car gets written off. Looking for some new ideas. Same price range and requirements.

How reliable would 2002 gti vr6 be? Should be a fun car right? Some Mazda 3's in that price range too.

So what do you guys think?

Also tastes have matures since 09. Looking for midsize, preferably a wagon with a manual. If its domestic market it needs to be extra tight. Or a ford. Not really feeling jdm anymore.
