announcement was originally scheduled for nov 8th. But the news is out that TMC is to pull out immediately. They are looking for a buyer tho. The old bmw team might be able to take its place on the grid next year as well.

not really surprising...

A great disappointment. Is the Japanese GP the next thing to disappear? I wonder how long this new era of motor racing will last....

They're selling off spare parts on their Web site, in case anybody's interested in starting their own team.

Toyota F1 parts for sale (http://www.toyota-f1-shop.com/home/b2c_tmg/b2c/display/(isQuery=no&layout=6_1_60_49_5_2&uiarea=2&ctype=areaDetails&carea=0000000026)/.do)

My guess we wont see anyone step in and buy the reminance of this team as happened in the Honda case.

This may be the opening Sauber needs get the remaining teams to allow them to be on the grid next season.

Lots of spots open - assuming nobody else drops out, which I am not confident about.

It may seem obvious that they're pulling out to save money, but they had earlier signed on for 3 more seasons, so the FIA is determined to make a circus of it.

Formula One's governing body will review the legality of Toyota's pullout from the sport.

FIA says that since the Japanese team's announcement comes only weeks after it committed to the sport through 2012. It will seek "urgent clarification" as to the team's "legal position" in the F1 championship.

Max may be gone, but the FIA still has many lawyers in need of work (http://tsn.ca/auto_racing/story/?id=297184)

Nakajima shouldn't have been in F1 in the first place. Williams making that deal with Toyota was a mistake. Everyone kind of suspected this would happen when Honda pulled out, so I can't say I'm too surprised. But with that being said... I want that rear wing!

Anyone else thinking of ordering any parts? If so let me know, I think we might be able to have Toyota cover the shipping if we have them shipped here to the dealership.

Nakajima is a fail.

I thought the story was that Toyota would pull out if they did not win a GP this year.... they came close on a few occassions (podium finishes) .... :(

I'm actually thinking about a front or rear rim. Can you find out about shipping Ryan?

Team_Mclaren

I'm gonna buy that rear wing and put it on my toyota minivan!!!

on a more serious note, i think Renault will pull out as well, or retain only the engine manufacturing department.

Are the commas decimals?

The wings would look sweet above a TV in a home theatre setup, and a wheel used as a table :bigpimp:

the commas are decimals. That's what I'm thinking of doing with a wheel. I would love to hang that rear wing up somewhere, but that is way too rich for my blood.

If I had more money (and space), I would be all over getting the rear engine cover with underfloor and converting it into some sort of high performance lounge chair.

I would just hang it on the wall, in my mind it's art.

I'm not going to buy anything. I have no respect for a F1 team that pulls out and uses the economy as an excuse. They couldn't win, that's why they pulled out. They're not getting a penny from me.

No more new Toyotas for me.

Oh, I absolutely think this stuff is art; art can be in the form of furniture though, whether it be a chair, coffee table, or otherwise.

I actually found a Honda F1 wheel on ebay UK, which I'd much rather have, but the seller said UK shipping only. Anyone that lives in the UK want to make some cash and send that over to me?

How much was it? I remember hearing they're worth like 50k or something outlandish like that (IIRC). Obviously a second hand/old one wouldn't be worth that much, but I'm curious.

Go check it out on ebay.co.uk ... they're cheaper than you think.

Yeah I'm serious Mibz. I might have a contingency plan in place, but I'll let you know if the auctioneer (or ebay) will even let me bid on it since I live in Canada and ship it somewhere else in the UK. I've already asked him to change the auction rules. Thanks man. I appreciate it.

Earlier this year, I thought FOTA was going to break away and form their own series. Now it seems the manufacturers are just going to walk away. Ferrari claims the FIA is waging a war on manufacturers and driving them out of the sport. (http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/80013) It's a continuation of their complaint about creating a two-tiered series. They says it's not the economy and not poor results that have manufacturers pulling out. They rightly bash the new team Lotus for recycling the name despite having no association with the previous team. Renault is still considering whether to remain in F1. (http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/80031) What little they've said is not encouraging. Maybe this is why so few teams have announced next year's driver lineup - they aren't planning to race next year.

I paid more than I wanted to. I shouldve waited til the last 10 seconds to bid instead of last minute. :banghead:

Now to see if it fits on my car...

I have a spare front and rear wheel from my CART FedEx Championship car that I'll sell. ;) Front is split 6-spoke OZ forged magnesium 15X10. Rear is 10 Y-spoke (mesh) BBS forged magnesium 15X14.

I think the sport is slowly following the path to destruction. I started following in the mid 90's when I was a teenager and it just isn't the same anymore. They seem to be losing the passion and it's turning into a pure business.

Ok so shipping for the rims is 78 pounds for 2.. I'm assuming about 40 pounds to ship each.

Speaking of eBay auctions, anybody interested in Schumacher's '94 Benetton? Comes complete with illegal traction control.

Schumacher's 1994 Benetton-Ford B194 for sale - TSN story (http://tsn.ca/auto_racing/story/?id=297902)

Apparently the bidding is near $4-million!
