I thought plasmas don't burn in anymore? Is there warranty on the burn in?

they still burn in, but not as bad as they used to
it would require a long period of time to burn an image, perhaps left the tv on all night and day by mistake

don't think there is warranty since the tv is over a year old and i never purchased and extended one.

^ and exactly what adam c said, girlfriend left the tv on all night with a game still going...so now there is burn in. :( otherwise burn in never really happens

How bad is the burn in? like do u notice it while watching TV? or just changing the channel?

eglove

you won't notice the burn in at all during regular movies/tv/games. the only time you will is when the screen is 100% white, or very very light colors.

FYI

I thought there's that static option in the menu to wipe the burn in. You leave the static on overnight and the burn in should be gone.

bump, couple people interested but no one ever comes by.

some of the questions that have been asked, are when people google this model it comes up as 720p tv. this is true, but if you do hook up a 1080p source it will display it no problem. i will demonstrate this to anyone who comes by to purchase it. i have my ps3 and 360 setup so you can test it out/whatever you like.

as for the burn in, the overnight static/wipe option could work, i just don't feel like leaving the tv on for that long. so you could possibly fix the problem by doing this!

$520 FIRM!

So is this TV 1080P like you say it is in the original post?, or does it just support 1080p, like practically any 720p tv will do. There's a big difference between being able to display 1080p, and being able to receive a 1080p signal and downscale it to 720p.

eglove

It displays 1080. Doesn't look downscaled at all to me. From what I've read on avsforums it was one of the best you could buy for what it could do.

Try forcing your PS3/360 to only output 720p, do you notice any difference?

not trying to spam the thread i'm just unsure of the specs, 720p vs 1080p is a big difference

there is less pixel density, if that make sense on 720p. everything is "larger" on 720p. With 1080p everything is slightly smaller and everything seems denser/crisper.

I searched the model but they are saying it only comes in 720p.

do you want some sort of fucking cookie? i already said that in a post. thanks for trolling my thread. :thumbsdow

as for the whole 720/1080p issue, searching on avsforum this tv does to 1080p input, does not upscale it/downscale.

if you are interested come take a look at the tv, if you don't like it you don't like it. not going to hurt to come by and see if you like it

put it on a static screen and the burn in WILL go away.

$480! Take it home!

Ran the static screen for almost 48 hours. Burn in is barely noticable now!

Geez your an ignorant cock sucker arent you. This TV is NOT a 1080p TV. The best it will display is 1080i. It will accept a 1080p signal but will downscale it.

I was interested in this tv untill i read the above. Sounds to me like your playing off this TV as being something its not.

Merry Christmas troll. I'll take pictures of what the tv says on each input. It's not downscaling it to 1080i.

clearly it downscales. it does NOT put out 1080p. quit being an ass about it, and trying to make is sound like your tv does something it doesnt. it makes you look like an ass and no one will buy it if your trying to make it sound better then it is. i tend not to trust people that do that.
