OK - so it's not a car, but it's a toon-ish cover I made yesterday for a mix CD for my friends. An example of what you can do with Illustrator I guess (well - actually I made it in Photoshop, with the pen tool which might as well be Illustrator).

julian casablancas, meg white, and andre 3000 are all I recognize there.. well, I think the dude with the mic and smoke is julian casablancas (lead signer for the strokes) am I right? :P

Yeah - well 3 of the bottom ones are local artists (well 2 are and one is from here but got big elsewhere in Canada). Basically, starting in the bottom left going clockwise (listed by band name): Joel Plaskett, The Trews, Liam Lynch, Dank Jones, The Strokes, Outkast, and The White Stripes.

i'm assuming using the pen tool and filling it with a color?
this looks cule, i think i will also try this too!

Well - I select the shape with the pen too, and then go Layer > Fill With Colour. I think. Something like that anyway. I prefer using photoshop when sorta tracing pics like this because the resolution of the base image is higher.

Once you do this, you can add to the fill layer with the pen too, or create a new fill layer (different colour).
