What is the cost of a lense? Does it have to be sent back to Sony??

you can find the parts on ebay for about 35-60 bucks and install it yourself or you can find a local person they probably do it for about 80-100 bucks

The lasers are not 35-60 bucks. Good luck finding reliable ones at that price.
