thanks!...

I dunno... maybe because you don't look like a douchebag juice monkey... they don't think you can do it.

Besides, why would you want to do that job? Unless you're looking to just bang skanks.

because my work is forcing me to work stupid shifts, 8am-7pm, which is retarded and leaves me with next to no "free time" or time in which i can get a NORMAL part time job....

so starting in a club later and working till midnight-2am type-deal would work perfectly....

plus i have training in security, boxing and taekwondo, and figured ( at first ), that i was a shoe in for the position....

apparently not....

Are you larger than 230lbs roughly? If not, I don't blame them for laughing at you. Honestly most of what bouncers do doesn't require being able to throw punches. You need to be able to pick kids up throw them in a head lock and toss them out of a door. Try applying at some hotels and such, pay is decent and I am sure they have hours for you. Or perhaps work at a casino dealing cards a few nights a week?

what type of jobs could i get in a hotel, receptionist type-deals when people check-in or call-in?...

Dude try Ranchmans. They had me as a doorman back when I was a skinny dude. Pay is decent too.

Interesting, I've worked with some bouncers that were around 160pounds, and they did the job just fine.
Its not the size of dog in the fight, its the size of fight in the dog.

I used to be a bouncer too and I weigh 180, but that was up north though in Whitecourt.

The "speakeasy" /Frenchmaid off of Glenmore & Center street is usually hiring.

Dont know why you'd want to be a bouncer though, shit work with shit pay. :thumbsdow

Ranchmans style: it's how many dogs are in your corner ;)

again, it's a job that the hours would be acceptable with my current work schedule, i'd be available to bounce any night typically....

Ive worked in a hotel (doorman) for 3+ years now.
With friends at other hotels and experience at 2 hotels, hours are about this..

7am-3:30
3-11:30pm
noon-8:30

Dont mean to discourage you from the line of work, i love it, but just laying out the facts.

I can appreciate that, but Im just saying there are a lot more options then being a bouncer if you look hard enough. Like I say getting paid $13-14/hr to jump into (INTENSE multi person)fights while trying to break them up as well as dealing with drunken idiots is a hard go unless you enjoy that sort of thing. Thats why I got out after a month & a half.

All I was getting at is there are a lot more options out there. I'd check into hotel valet & concierge work as the pay is better and you dont have to deal with the same sort of shit. I used to be a Limo driver for a few years, Im sure they'd be happy to have you on if you'd be up to that. A lot of companies have work in the hours you want, and they'd be happy to give you the trips.
I knew a couple valet attendants when I was a chauffeur, and they make wicked money some days/nights.

You could try taking a graveyard shift stocking shelves at the Supermarket. There's very high turnover and they're always hiring.

Alley shouldn't be hard to get a job at, don't see why they would laugh.

They're short staffed for doormen, and a few of their doormen are smaller guys. Apply again, or shoot me a PM, I'll get an interview for you.
