Me + Security guard = anything?

I cut through the CBE parking lot/loading dock today (5th ave and MacLeod) and as i was half way through the block, the security guard stepped out of his booth and wrote down my plate no.

Did i do anything illegal?
Can he fine me for anything?

Or is this just some security guard trying to be a big shot?

I figure option 3, but im really unsure.
Someone on here has got to have an idea.

He's probably just documenting your plate in case something happens around that time... in reality.. just doing his job? haha

chances are they wont do anything, they "could" get you on trespassing, since you weren't invited on to their property, but it's highly unlikely, even if they do pursue it, they cant prove it was you driving, just because the car belongs to you.

probably nothing since it is a loading dock and he was just documenting your plate to see if you were parked there for a while when he made his rounds
