can it be changed to 2?

i often try to search for vw parts, or lg phones...

not sure why 2 characters is not allowed...

Use a * at the end of the three letters. Should work then.

The mininum search length is set to 3 right now. Lowering it to 2 would require the search index to be rebuilt which would not only take forever but would cause our db to get too large and performance will take a big hit.

Wildcards will not work properly either. Try searching for i7* and you'll see no results re: Intel Core i7 processors even though they exist in the database.

for things like that, try typing something like

"site:beyond.ca vw parts"
"site:beyond.ca lg phones"

in Google. Try being as specific as possible to avoid matches in people's sigs or profiles.

I've been told Google is a pretty good search engine.
