View Full Version : Locksmith to program a Ford PATS key

Does anyone know a Calgary locksmith that can program ford PATS keys from the on board computer? I only have one key, and two are needed to do the reprogramming yourself.
the dealership can do it, but they are looking for approx $200 for a new programmed key, which seems kind of steep.
This is for a 2000 Expedition.

Read your owner's manual, I believe Ford for that year, you can do-it-yourself... it's just a series of turning the iginition to "on and off" and then it'll enter into program mode. But that could be for the FOB key (keyless entry system)... I can't remember, and I don't have a 2000 Expedition o/m on my.

I think you can program you own as long as you already have two good keys and want to program a third.
I have only one key.

Necro-bump. Not sure why I keep buying trucks with only one key, but it seems to be my style.

Dominic appears to have changed his number. Or that number was incorrect. That number now gets Brianne's voicemail.

Amazing locksmith didn't show up for my appointment, and they quoted me the same price as the dealerships.

I've heard some conflicting advice about the ability to program new keys with one one factory key. I decided to give it a shot and I have ordered two keys from ebay.
