So im sitting in this parking lot drinking a coffee dididida bla bla bla. We're just sitting there in my car when a accident happens right in front of us. A yellow xterra full of brown girls and a gray mazda 626 full of caucasian girls were going through the timmies drive-thru. The xterra decides otherwise, puts it in reverse backs up a bit and yanks the wheel to the left and her right front corner smokes the 626's front left. The girls all get out and start talking, we go up to them make sure they're alright then go back to the car. The girls start exchanging numbers ( didn't see any papers being pulled out or anything). It was pretty minor, a plastic piece of the xterras fender fell off and the the old beat ass 626 suffered a broken marker light. Anyways, some girl comes up to my car and

Her: Can I get your name as a witness for the insurance company?
Me: ya sure my name is "bla bla bla"
Her: thanks
Me: ya np, grab a paper and pen and ill give you my number
Her: No, it's ok I only need your name
Me: Ok whatever, good luck.

They all jumped in their cars and booked it . How is her insurance supposed to contact me to verify me?

Does she call her insurance company and say

her: I had an accident last night, bla bla bla didi-didi-da and I have a witness"
Agent: What is your witnesses name?
her: "bla bla bla my name"
agent: oh ya i know him, let me call him up and ask him what happened

Really no point to this thread, just bored. Anyways here is a paint picture that might help explain

Maybe she took your license plate # as well?
Can't help but think there's a scam in there somehow.

It's right up by Pineridge you almost have to assume it's a scam.

At the very least I would call your insurance company and report what took place with them.

Long time ago I was involved in an accident. Damage was super minimal, a light scratch, 2 years later the guy decided he was going to scam me on some other accident and ended up claiming over 4k in damages, I had no recourse or defense so my rates went fairly high after that.

Gotta look out for yourself these days

I read it correctly.

Some one having a name and a License plate # is enough to screw another person over

You think that's dumb? Down in lethbridge I'm sitting at a light. The van to my front left decides to puts it in reverse for some reason. Once the light turns green, he then proceeds to smoke the guy behind him! I pull up a bit, he's looking around with this stupid look on his face like "what happen" and "should I book it" They both got out with paper and pens in hand so I took off. Dumbest move I've seen on the road so far.

My sister hit the gas instead of the brake in an 03 cherokee, went through the same wooden fence twice before writing it off around a lightpost base - $36000+ in damages, not even 2200kms on the thing lol...

There are stupid drivers everywhere.

couple months ago when I was in vancouver I was driving behind this asian lady in a new 5-series. It was 9pm at night, and we were both leaving this mall parking lot, waiting to turn onto the main road.

So she is the first car, stopped at the parking lot exit, waiting to turn right onto the road. I was driving a dodge caravan rental and stopped behind her, waiting for my turn to turn after her. The mall was already closed, there were no car infront / behind us / around us, and there were no car coming down the main road that we were turning into.

All of a sudden she put her car in reverse , and backs into me! How can she not see two giant SUV-level headlights in her rearview mirror ( it was already dark).

She got out of the car, looked at us blindly and didn't say a word. I noticed that we had no damage on the rental ( and we bought insurance on it anyway), and she didn't seem to care her new 5-series bumper is slightly dented.

so I said " well I don't see any damage on my car"

her " So.. we okay?'

me " uh.. yeh I guess... "

she got back into the car and drove off..

:dunno: :dunno:

Dude! Was this last around last winter time?

Because that was my car he hit! haha small world. Nearly blind 100year-old minvan driver decided to reverse right into my old 88 Prelude because he wanted to get into the right lane. I blared my horn but he told me he didn't hear anything. My car was so low that his bumper actually went over my bumper and crumpled my hood a bit.

Good thing I didn't have to rely on any witness accounts. We ended up settling for some cash and I fixed the damage myself.

Mmm no it would have been just this summer...and the driver looked like a 40-year old Mexican. Sucks to hear that happened to you though, but god damn was it ever funny as hell to watch.

Haha well that's messed up then. Drivers in Lethbridge must not to be used to having any cars around them.
