My bathrooms currently have the stand alone vanity with single sink, standard white marble top. Looking to upgrade to granite and have the portion of the counter top close to the wall extend out over the toilet for extra counter space. I know at Home Dept you can buy replacement granite tops but they don't have the extention I'm looking for.

Is it possible to purchase such a thing off the shelf somewhere? If not, can anyone recommend a good company that I can get what I'm looking for. I'm not looking for anything exotic, just your standard granite top and edges.

Unless you want a specific recommendation for a shop, just start calling granite companies. That's a pretty simple request that any of them could deal with.

I think if I were supplying it (i'm not in calgary though and am strictly commercial) you'd be looking at approx. $1000-1100 for a custom cut 4' x 3.25' top w/bullnosed edges, topmount basin and about a 3' by 8-10" extension running along the wall on one side.

It's a shame granite is so heavy and expensive to ship. The price of granite is insanely expensive here in Alberta. In Quebec, where it's sourced, the sidewalks are made of granite and you see the stuff laying around in huge piles at various construction sites all over the place.

try graniteworx.com, i think it might be a little pricey but they also have a website where you can see the types of tiles you can choose.

i used Granite shop. They were priced competitively, VERY easy to deal with, and kept in touch with me for the whole process. I would HIGHLY recomend them.
