Programming Compustar remote start.

My parents have a Compustar remote starter on their Cavalier. I recently bought them a new remote, as their old one was destroyed by the dog. How do I program it to work. The model of starter I'm not sure, but the remote I got was a 1WFMRF. Same as the one that came with the starter. No power locks, no alarm, just the starter. Thanks.

IIRC the standard compustar programming is to cycle they key from off to on 5 times within 7 seconds and then the lights will flash, press the lock button on the remote, then after like 10 seconds the lights will flash to singal exiting programming mode, then it should work
