I LOVE old school beemers. What kind of suspension setup are you running? Something like this would be fun to pic up in stock form as a mini project. With a swap this car would haul ass. What would the weight on it be? I cannot see it being over 3000 lbs.

Thanks for the compliments guys.

the car is dropped on bilstein shocks and Racing Dynamics springs...also it's got M3 offset bushings, Swaybars, Swaybars link, Strutbrace etccccc. pretty stiff and amazing handling.

also the "m" emblem is staying there..it's a 325is...so came with the "m" package...M owners could lick it and suck it up lol.

Dope ride for sure

More info on this? also if he put those stupid after market "spark plug wires" i want to ask him why? such a waste of money.

also the car is in need of a good tune-up. running pretty rich.

looks like there was a tear-down on the engine. if you could link the original built thread, that would be awesome!

Nice car but don't agree with you on the M badge being okay. I had an M3 and now i have another car thats just as fast as the current M3 model (soon to be faster) and it is going to have m3 steering wheel/mtech full body kit, and many M3 suspension upgrades but its still not an M3 nor would i badge it with an M. Even if you have a 3 or a 5 series that was considered an M special editon model, it was never really badged as one.

BMW only puts the m badge on true M cars. You often see these on e30s and e36 mostly too since its harder to tell if its a true M car or not.

i don't get where you guys get that? it was standerd on Mtech E30s and some "is" U.S models..

it's not an M i know, and i don't really like the badge at all...but if it came with the car it's staying on.

and FYI...it's not an "M3 badge"..it's just the m with the colors on.

aka....indicates it's the "mpackage".

anyway i don't like it...my Kamie eyebrows from my old vert are going in..

and yes it's AIRFORCE1. :hijack:  :bigpimp:

I never said it was an M3 badge. What im saying is that even M package cars were never badged with that single M badge.

I don't recall m package cars ever coming with that from the factory but i could be wrong. I know that in the recent years they haven't done that.

Whatever you like it? All good.. its a nice car for sure just stating my opinion.

I agree, the single M badges are owner added and look retarded.

My car has the "mtech package" or "m package" whatever you want to call it. Full bodykit, short shifter, it has the "m" door sills and M badge on the steering wheel and on shifter. I would NEVER put that badge on the outside.

Save your pennies! That $47grand car will be around for a LONG time, anyone who wants to buy that miled out M540 at that price is smoking crack. One of our guys sold his just the other week, less mileage than that for 1/5th the price. ok ok ok...

so i had to come back on here just to shut those fancy ass "new BMW" guys...i guess money can buy you a 50k cars but can't buy you brains.

first of all, you don't know what you're talking about, second i probably owned/own/modded bmws than you did, so i know exactly what i am talking about...

third, when it comes to modding....take a step back and go read/look all of my old rides before you smack talk like that.

the inspector told me that everysingle suspension part was replaced with urethane bushings. the car handels amazing. but on the other part, i am dealing with an Electrical nightmare right now since my stupid wipers won't quit working. the other thing i have to worry about is that the hack job that was done on the air-intake, and coil setup.

i already orderd a C.F C.A.I with heatsheild for it. can't wait to tear this baby down and re-do a bunch of shit.

Leave the badge, don't listen to those fool/haters.

funkedelic2 couldn't figure out why his Ford Crown Vic "winter beater" was only spinning one wheel on snow, hence not even knowing the simple mechanics of a rear differential, never mind modding his BMW. He's a smack talk like the ones that you find on BMW forums acting like he knows what he's talking about, but in reality, he just pays to get others to mod his car and pretend he did everything himself.

Even if you have a 3 or a 5 series that was considered an M special editon model, it was never really badged as one.

BMW only puts the m badge on true M cars. You often see these on e30s and e36 mostly too since its harder to tell if its a true M car or not.

What do you have on your E92 that makes it so fast? I am gussing some sort of tuner, but what makes the care keep up in the corners.

:bigpimp: Don't take out the M stripes. Add an M infront....then drop in an S85 engine for the ultimate street rocket. :D

E36's are anything but pieces of shit. I dont know why you are talking shit.

Your e30 is nice, very nice, but dont be under any misconception that your e30 is of the same caliber of the legendary E30M3 - which IS the best M3 ever made. - Stop picking fights man.

What makes E36's shit? IMHO Drop top E36 Coupes are the most beautiful bimmers ever made. Solid platforms and have cult like followings in MANY racing circles. The same is said for your gen bimmer.

Please do your gen a favour and treat your car with the kind of respect and maintenance that it deserves!

For the record, whether or not funk wrenchs on his own car or not that DOESNT make him any less of an enthusiast. I used to believe the same thing... that unless you built your own car you were less of an enthusiast, but the reality of the situation is, he is still learning and interested in his car so what should it matter?

Im not saying we all have to sit down eat smores and sing kumbya, but atleast respect your fellow enthusiasts, because if we dont stick together then who can we lean on when we are presented with issues like racecity and its closure?

As for the badge... who cares? I mean really it is just a badge!

Scat has something you will never earn here. Respect from members. Who cares if he tinted his windshield anymore? Is that all you have on him? Get over it, it was a solid few years ago.

Did it ever occur to you that we all modded our cars, and we have all been guilty of making bad decisions? Fuck I used to have a body kit on my 89 civic and an exhaust that was so loud I had to have my system bumping at 20+ or I would get a headache from the sound. Never really helped... I ended up jaring my brain with the constant pounding of tupac and biggie anyways.

My point is, we all had moments of indiscretion, let it go already. If you havent noticed scat contributes in the bimmer section and general car forums in more substaintial way on the daily then I have seen most members contribute over their entire stay.

Do you know what a GT1 is? How about TIS? Well he does... and he works on his bimmer himself. He knows what he is talking about... and it is about time that maybe you step back and realise that knows what he is talking about. Maybe get to know him a bit before you talk shit.

What makes for a bad decision? a fart can? Altezzas?

It's never a bad desision if thats what the owner of the car wants...You guys act like there is one way to mod a car, The way you guys like it, And if this kid wont do it you guys flame him.

Leave the badge kid, Hoefully it makes thess guys steam some more.

You have the wrong idea man. All I am saying is I have owned cars which by all standards were garbage. But I needed to go through that stage and learn things before I could build a car properly.

All I said was I had a car with a fart cannon, tint and bumping system and rashed rims lowered to the weeds. I would scrape going up/down anything. I was a typical ricer who would race any and everything. But all that did for me is teach me how uncool all of that really was. What is and isnt acceptable as botha driver and an enthusiast.

So what if scat tinted his windshield? Has he done it again, despite learning that maybe it isnt all that good of an idea? No? Well then I would say he has learned what works and what doesnt.

I think it is consensus that as car enthusiasts we all try to individualize our cars... if having that badge on his car makes it special to him, then let it be!

I never took issue to dope7 throwing a badge on his car... I would take exception if he bought an item which would make his car unsafe, or a hazard to him, and above all other cars on the road.

I do know what i'm talking about, but if you don't want to admit it then i don't really care. I already said earlier that i thought it was a pretty nice car, that i just didn't agree with the badge. Why does this all of the sudden turn into a competition about who has owned the most BMW's? What does that really have to do with proving whether that badge belongs there or not? I've had 3 so far. I do my fair share of reading about our cars. Take a step back and realize that sometimes people are wrong. I can admit that i don't know something or that i was wrong when i'm proven wrong. You can't really tell me you don't care what anyone thinks because look at how defensive you've already gotten about the whole situation.

I can admit that i don't know everything about cars. I'm not a mechanic by trade, if i don't trust myself to work on my car because i don't have the experience or knowledge to do it, then i won't. It's not exactly a $1,500 mid 90s honda civic where it doesn't really matter if i do it wrong or not. I do things on it myself that i know how to do because i've done them before. I think thats resonable. It doesn't make me less of an enthusiast than anybody else. I just installed a tune on my car, installed a digitial boost gauge and in the process of swapping my interior trim. I installed all the exterior stuff, and random interior items, I'll do things like that but i won't do major modifications that will cost me more in the end if i do them wrong.

20,000+ people w/BMW's have tinted their front window? Is this just the little strip at the top like the manufacturer's put in or are you talking the whole window? I think I can speak for most people who would agree that aside from being highly illegal it's also probably one of the dumbest things a person can do. I'm willing to be that 99.99% of people have never seen a car with a full dark tinted front window. I'm surprised a tint shop would even consider doing it. Is your window still tinted?

As for the badge, I'm not a fan of putting badges on a car that don't belong there. I saw a Lambo kit car at a show a few summers ago and the guy had Lambo badges on it. Pathetic is the word for it. If I was a Lambo owner I would be a little ticked off as well since it degrades the badge. On top of that, I wonder how many cars smoked this Fiero going home from the show and then told their buddies they beat a Lambo. Putting a fake badge on the car says nothing about the car and everything about the low self esteem of the owner.

As for the $45k BMW 540M with 210,000 miles that guy is smoking crack and the car will never sell. Early 90's M5's can be had for $10-$15k these days.

LOL his windshield was tinted like 4 years ago, and it came on the car that he purchased:whocares: :whocares:

Let the badge stay, no one here has any authority to tell another member how to display his cars. If he stated he will not take it off just drop it.
