I"m looking to import a rhd car next year but i'm not sure which sites are good to buy from. And are there auctions i can look at to bid on cars myself and import them over? If anyone has any good advice on importing from a good place or any auctions i can view, that would be great.

I reccommend buying something landed here already, and make sure its already has an OOP done. It will save you tons of headaches.

Why would you import one when there are piles of them for sale here already?

Because you can choose whatever car you want, and still save THOUSANDS when you bring it in yourself.

What a dumb question....

LOOL!

Are you looking at bringing in something that sn't here yet? Somthing that becomes legal next year? There are plenty of good RHD vehicles already here that have passed OOP that may be better for you. If you are just looking for an S13, Fairlady, or R32 there are plenty of these here. If however you are looking for a U13 turbo auto then there is only one, and you cant have it.
:bigpimp:

jdmsource.ca brings in really nice cars most of the time, they have ads up in the FS section. They don't advertise their cars available on their site.

Importconcern.ca is another good one with lots of info on there as well.

You think canadian drivers are unable to drive a RHD in a LHD enviroment? Do you realize RHD cars drive in LHD environments all over the world?

Not only that, there are a ton of LHD cars in RHD environments as well. Hell, I've seen far more LHD cars in Japan than JDM cars in Canada.

I have bought 2 rhd celicas from JDM motor imports and I have been extreamly happy with both. Also if you want the best possible car, Sean from Zen Autoworks can find you a really mint car. With most of the JDM impoters it can be really hit and mis on the quality of there cars. I imported 2 300zxs in the past and one really was a POS. You do roll the dice when you buy a car from pics. Depending on the car you are looking for I would look at one that is already here. Then you can drive it first and have it cheaked out to make sure you dont buy a car with lots of problems.

I've never bought from sean, but I've talked to him. Definitely recommended if you want a VERY clean JDM.

Our road system was not designed for any driver positioning LHD or RHD.

So many countries have co-existent vehicles from LHD-RHD with no problems at all. Go figure :drama:

-1 for import concern (they are terrible at communicating)

I am on my 5th jdm car. (three of which jdmsource brought in), other two personally brought in.

My first GTR from jdmsource, was a POS, had major fuel problems right after it passed inspection, and other problems after.
Second was a 93 gtfour from jdmsource, this car was one of my best buys, such a great car, amazing condition, and ran amazing.
My mr2 shouldnt really count, but it was bought from jdmsource, then i bought it from another member, it was in okay condition (not great by any means, but not horrible)

Brought in myself is a minty minty r32 GTR, brought over bone stock, and mildly modified here (exhaust, intake, all maintenance, fluid flush)

Now my new pride and joy, A rev B subaru gf8 wrx wagon. Brought over bone stock with 49XXX origional documented kilometers. Modifying has already started.

All in all, i would either purchase a car you have driven, that has landed here and been OOP'd, or bring in your own car, and start off with a bone stock platform and modify it yourself.

ALSO, I would give a BIG thumbs up to Sean at zen autoworks, great guy to deal with, and his priority is quality of cars, not quantity like most importers these days.

strongly suggesting getting a car that is already here, in some cases you will save a lot of headaches and $

For example, I see automatic soarers sell for 1200+ ( this example had cosmetic problems etc) people don't realize how cheap this is, people don't realize that the soarer is probably the top 2 most reliable JDM imports available at the moment, yet people still continue buying cars like TT 300zx which is probably the MOST unreliable JDM sports car at the moment for $5000 minimum( auto version).

If you've never imported don't start, if you want to get it through a dealer than get ready to pay more than what you are willing(in most cases)
