I wonder if people ever make money off of their mods. Seems a lot of people want to get every dollar back that they put into their car...

When I sell my cars (which are always modded to whatever extent), I sell them for pretty much what a stock one would cost with comparable mileage.

... And I STILL have problems selling it :(

LOL
Some people just want to get every dollar back from their precious. I've had a lot of calls about the S but because of the weather we can't test drive it. Everyone thinks the motor's going to fall out after it leaves the driveway:rofl:

max_boost, there's warranty until 2007 on your S right? I think last week would've been your best bet for test drives. I'm not sure when we'll have dry roads again, and even if they are dry they're gravelled up pretty good and you'll get quite a few dings...

BTW: The driveaway price on the RSX-S is $34000. I talked to the guy at Acura last weekend. I'm not sure how much they would move on that but you might get a couple hundred off of that price...

ya, the car wont sell. you NEVER get your value out of mods when your selling a car. But that guy will probably end up keeping his ride as he wont be able to figure out why nobody will buy it...

Those who wanted to buy an RSX should of got theirs in the summer. 3.8% vs. 7.7% is a huge difference hehe

Yah, even if I listed my car for $32K I don't think it'll sell.......crappy season and I don't want any more rock chips lol

I personally would not buy any car that has mods done to it. As nice as it is to have the work done for you it comes down to you have to live with anothers taste.

Then again - you get the lazy people who don't know any better and would buy it.

i prefer when people try to get all of the money back from the REPAIRS that were done to the car...

new brakes... that adds $500
new windshield... that adds $500

forgetting the fact that you would have to do that ANYWAY if the car wasnt forsale

rc2002
11-20-2003, 02:41 PM
Yeah. I bet this RSX guy has added repairs and gas and oil to make a $38000 price tag. LOL.

max_boost, I wouldn't be so sure about your S2K not selling. At 32K, I'd drop the price on my car to dirt cheap and buy yours right away. I'd save $3000 from yours, so I could drop that much on mine. Anyone for a supercharged prelude for $20750? :)

anyone who is interested in that car, look at mine first $37, 500 :D

you must like the feeling of an empty wallet too... personally... you will never get your money back for the mods you put into a car... so if you find one that was done well and hasnt had the crap driven out of it... you are doing well

my girlfriends dad restores muscle cars for a living... what costs $60k to build... will usually sell for $30k in a few years

but why does he do it?

satisfaction

i dont mod every car i own. i havent even modded any cars yet infact. why? cause i drove a 89 integra, and now a saturn. do i plan on modding the saturn? fuck no.

when i get a car i want to keep for 10+ years ill mod it. ill baby it. do i ever plan on getting the money back outta it? shit no.

guess what im saying is why would i wanna buy somebody elses project? people do things to their car to distinguish themselves. i dont want to buy a done up car and people to say "oh your driving <insert name>'s car!" i want people to say "hey i like YOUR ride"

$35K is still a great great deal, I might drop it a little more if the buyer is from Beyond. :)

wow .. $6,000 more then new when 3 yrs ago ! (ok, $2k for gst, $4k more then new)::zzz:

SO ..believe or not ? a near stock Prelude, 3 yr old, want more then MSRP ! my friend bought a same Prelude in 2001, with honda body kit, paid $ 29,000 plus tax ! (I went with him)and sold it for $ 24,000 last yr with 15K on it.
and now .. those car cost more ? I feel shame now, since I came from Edmonton. :guns::zzz:

rc2002
11-21-2003, 04:13 PM
Yeah some people are trying to cash in since the prelude isn't made anymore. But the second link has the following description:

2001 HONDA PRELUDE SE, fully loaded, many upgrades and extras, to many to list, 60,000kms, Ph (780) 913-7863, Edmonton.

I guess you never know what's under the hood - it could be pushing 400WHP.

August 02 I sold my 00 Pearl White Prelude for $25,500.
I made $2K on the deal which i used for my next car - up for sale in Spring, anyway.....
Most cars i was selling against were going for around $28K... i was being realistic plus i wanted to unload my car before Winter hit .
If you want a good investment buy a house not a car! I've learnt my lesson the hard way.

Then again - some people don't know any better right.
