should've welded a metal piece to the lug and used that to turn it.

Thats exactly what I did to get the lugs off my integra when the previous owner said he lost the key.

That is just messed. I will never get locking lugs.

I still don't see the point in sawzalling your rims instead of just welding to the lug or using a bigger tap....

He says he tried the welding thing and it broke

He was so close to solving it too... he drilled it to use the tap, he could have just drilled the head off....

1) Complaining about lug bolts vs lug nuts. I've never had a problem with the lug bolts on my current and previous car

2) what a waste of a rim!

My god, so fucking funny. Poor car.

Guy is an idiot, but for those that say lug bolts don't suck, they do. I hate them, and I don't get the point.

It's so much easier to change your wheels when you can hang them on the studs instead of hanging them on the hub and trying to spin them to the write spot (especially if you're lucky like me and have two sets of holes, but only one set is threaded) and your wheel keeps falling off because of your clumsy frozen hands when you're trying to get your winters on.

Why Germany? Why?

Honestly with a broken tap inside the bolt I'm not sure there would be any other way to get the bolt out.

I think his real failure was that he most likely used the wrong size allen key to take the bolt out in the first place and stripped the head.

That's when you bash a torx bit that's a little bit too big into it with a sledgehammer. Worked for me with a stripped hex bolt on my VW's crank pulley. Thought I was screwed. Just had to sacrifice a $5 torx socket...
