As some of you may know, I am originally from the small town of Hanna in southern Alberta. Hanna has one of the last standing railroad roundhouses in Canada that is completely intact, and also has the full turntable inside. The first part of the roundhouse was built in 1911 and supported 10 trains, in 1917 it was expanded to support 15 trains.

The roundhouse, however, is pretty beat up and run down. There is a local community group trying to raise money to restore the roundhouse and open up a museum.

Recently the group applied for the Aviva Community Fund which is a $250,000 grant. We need about 100 more votes to make it into the final round. If you could, please vote for this project and leave a comment (however please do not spam). We are going up against communities such as Toronto, so every vote helps.

I get a hardon for rustic/historic buildings, so this definitely gets my vote. There is a VERY quick (1 page, email, password, username) registration process, but we're stealing shit from those liberal basterds, so do it.
