A 5 minute search reveals on LS1GTO forums that this was a quick rip after his headers were swapped, and before he made a custom exhaust system.

To be honest I'd rather hear that than any kind of canister shaped muffler on a 4 banger or 6 cylinder, not to forget the big mufflers that while have little to no rasp, still sound like last nights machine gun fart. While the GTO will become annoying, at least its not embarrassing.
