My friend has a 99 Accord V6 automatic, the transmission only slips when it is cold, but when it warms up it doesn't slip anymore? Is his tranny on the way out?

check the tranny fluid possible low

...but don't just fill it up willy-nilly. Personally I'd take it in somewhere trustworthy for a fluid flush/topup and to pull codes from it, as it could be a worn clutch pack or valve thingy. This is how the slushy in my ole Chrysler beater started crapping out, neglect on my part finished it off :)

D4 or TCS light blinking? 6th gen accord trannies are known for this... and it may be an early sign that its on its way out. Try changing out the tranny fluid, 3 x drain and fill with ~3quarts. That should change out 95% of the oil. Never flush this transmission.

Change out the fluid and add some Lucas Tranny Fix. I did this and the problem pretty much went away. It's reallllyy thick stuff though so try to do it in a warm place and warm up the bottle first a little.
