So I'm looking for one of these coffee tables... I did find a place in town that carries them, but it'll take about 3 months to ship it over here!!! So I'm just wondering, are there any places in town that would sell/customize 1/2" tampered glass to build one of these things?

In my mind, this can't be too complicated. If they had the right equipment, it looks like they just need to heat then bend at 90 degrees... Any ideas?

That is the problem. Tempered glass cannot be etched, cut, or bent.

Bends are done prior to tempering process; its actually quite simple to make; take a hunk of glass, heat it up over a form (likely plywood/ steel tube) warm the bends. Once it sets, clean up your edges - then send off to have the tempering done (could theoretically temper at home if you wanted - but it'd require a big oven...).

Think you'd probably have to talk to alberta glass, all the smaller shops/dealers order it in - they're about the only place i can think of (off the top of my head anyway) that deal with the custom stuff...

dont know if u want to go this route but there are a bunch of acrylic ones for sale online, be a hell of a lot lighter for shipping/moving and they look pretty nice... just search acrylic waterfall table - theres a huuge range on prices from 300 - 5000+

Just remember acrylic scratches like a mofo...

But... You could always talk your local neighbourhood auto detailer into buffing em out

You might look in the yellow pages for used office furniture suppliers, Buds, Ducky's etc. These tables were quite common in foyers and lobbies of many downtown companies.

Yeah, it's like $600 at Nordesign but they only come in one size there. The one I wanted, which takes forever to ship, is actually slightly smaller.

I hope they have the size that I want there. Just in time for x'mas too, so excited!!! Thanks bro!

I'm super stoked that you didn't already buy one online.

I hope you find the one you want and maybe this could turn out to be a mini christmas-miracle!

Post and update if you end up with any success
