My Mc Afee subscription is just about to expire. I've been using their security for years with great success. However Shaw is offering security for free. How good and reliable is their offer?
Should I just pay US40$ for renewal with Mc Afee and don't worry?

I gave up Shaw Secure when Microsoft Security Essentials came out. It runs much faster and it's free.

shaw secure is terrible, every computer i've had to troubleshoot that had shaw secure was fixed after simply disabling it

Avast or AVG, both free, been using/recommending them for years with zero problems. Pretty silly to pay for antivirus programs unless you are a big company or something IMO.

I've also had issues trying to fix people's computers with Shaw secure. Getting rid of it and replacing it with Avast always solved the problems.
