Temperature question

so.. I was driving normally today, suddenly noticed that my temperature was all the way down to the bottom C

also noticed that the heat was really that warm

i turned off the heat and the temp slowly went back up to about 45%.. turned on the heat again and the temp went down slowly


any ideas what it could be?:dunno:

Air in the coolant system?? I would flush the system, and make sure all the air is out.

By switching your heater core in and out of the collant loop ( via the temp control) you may have dislodged the air bubble.

If your temperature sensor (for you temp gauge) sits in dead air, it will not read. It will NOT respond the temp of engine block it is mounted in. It will only read if it is in contact with the engine coolant.
