My iPod was on shuffle today and it played an oldie, but a goodie:

uiDtohUr7BI

Yes, that's right! It is Ja Rule, in the flesh, collaborating with J.Lo for 'Ain't It Funny.' Now I totally forgot how this song goes and when I heard it again, I remembered how this song was better than the original!

If you want to hear and compare, bam!:

PVp_hPErMxI

It was nice going back to the 2000's and reliving the good times. The next song then played, which was "Welcome to Atlanta (Remix)"

This song was the polar opposite of a 'remix': it had the same beat, same flow, just different people with different lyrics.

Now it made me think: Can anyone think of a song that is better as a remix? Or any other good song that is different from the original, a true 'remix'?

crookers remix of day n night was better and more popular - i actually played the original for a few people and they thought it was a remix!

Only one I can think of right now....
Kanye West Love Lockdown remix by LMFAO

The original is good but remix makes it fast beat and better.

EDIT: damn it fixed the links.

Some of those are pretty tight. The first kind of reminds me of some mixes that DJ Deko-Ze threw out about ten years ago. God thats depressing to think of.

It`s to bad Ja Rule may have been the worst pop artist ever.
But god damn Jlo is hot in that vid.

The links both sound the same......almost like they are the same song...hmmm;) I can't tell the difference...which one is faster?

Holy crap, there's some good remixes out there! And that's what needs to be exposed in mainstream! Not just added lyrics!

I have never heard MGMT anywhere else other than a friend telling me about it (they're awesome btw!)

And by 'remix,' I mean any compilation that totally gives you a different vibe but techno-wise, there could be bazillions since there's a lot of mixers out there. Just whatever you think is better than the original would suffice.

I hate it with a passion when someone adds a little bit of bass to a song and calls it a remix

I'm liking this beat only because of the background song, my favorite song The Longest Road - Morgan Page

I find it odd that almost all the "remixes" are of hip hop or some such  Whatever happened to trance and techno, where remixing is more of the rule than the exception :dunno: :poosie: :D

DJ One has some wicked remixes, he does one with Eminem, B-Real and 2Pac called Psycho. Another one called Ghetto with 2Pac and Akon, and a good remix of Brenda's Got A Baby with Coolio.

LL Cool J And Wayne Wonder - Paradise (Remix)
Obidiah Parker - Hey Ya (Remix)
2Pac And Dr. Dre - California Love (1998 Remix)

But my favourite remixes, probably of all time, is the Cookin' Soul remix of Jay-Z's American Gangster album. They remixed the entire album with beats from Elvis and it's at least 3 times as good as the original.
