Need some feedback

so i'm looking to pick up a 1990 BMW 535i from another member, i've always liked the older M3's but i need a sedan and this one is right on my budget, so i thought i'd ask the board for feedback on older e34's. aside from normal wear and tear, what else should i be looking at? also it is imported from japan, any other issues i should be aware of? ty.
