What I get from it: As the retail market shifts from boxed copies to digital licensing, EA is just following suit of companies like Valve, Epic, Blizzard, NC Soft, etc

no surprise, the last hardcopy of a game i bought was F.E.A.R 2, since then i have all digital copies, as long as Steam (which the majority of my purchased have gone through) servers dont self implode, i'm all good if i need to redownload, even then local backup has already been done.

Call me old fashioned, but I do kinda like the physicality of a boxed copy. But, I do understand how and why the digital licensing movement has happened/is happening.

I bought Fallout 3 hardcopy for sentimental reasons. Otherwise, digital download for me.

For convenience it's nice being able to purchase games through steam, but I hate how long it can take for the game to download at times, as opposed to installing from disk

Yep, this is definately the trend. It's already hard to find PC games at EB now.

I got a good ten years of opening fresh boxes of computer games.. I can die happy :D

Exactly... you need to have sniffed a new game at least once to be considered even remotely close to a geek :D
