The wife and I were at costco and saw a casio digital piano on the floor and started fooling around with it.

After thinking about it for a while, i think we're both interested in getting a digital piano. we both took piano lessons as kids but never went on (i switched to guitar and have been playing for over 25 years.. my god i'm old)

I don't really know much about pianos, let alone digital pianos. all i know is that Roland, Kawai, and Yamaha are some of the big names.

Does anyone have any suggestions on what to look for?

I'd like to get something that does everything from classical grand piano to jazz piano and different kids of synth/pipe organ (think phantom of the opera), etc.

would i be looking more at getting a synth rather than a digital piano?

help?

Roland 700gx would be sweet. I hear it has the best action of any stage piano.

The Yamaha's are the best as far as I'm concerned. Lots of stage pianists use them.

We have a one. It's either a Roland or Yamaha. I don't know much about it. It's my wife's.
According to her, a good one needs to, at least, be full size (88 key) and have weighted keys.
Good ones are very expensive.

About the only thing I know about it is that it's heavy as fuck.

We bought our little girl a Portable Grand by Yamaha. She loves it!
