Hahaa i had the same problem, turned onto my street and got about 20 feet before getting stuck... waking up my old man to help push my car at 3am is always entertaining.

LOL at least tomorrow is saturday.

That is one sweet beater tho. Would get up my driveway...took me forever to clear my driveway...there was at least 3 ft of snow on it.

I saw a Unimog on John Laurie yesterday about 7pm that was the size of a fucking house lol.. had at least 3 feet of ground clearance!

Like this, but imagine it with a small starter sized house on the back! http://img.alibaba.com/photo/11845813/Mecedes_Benz_Unimog_U1300l_Custom_Automobile.jpg

I'm sure this would work with the snow drifts and ice too.

I saw the guy that owns that lifted F-650 out and about enjoying himself. I'm sure he felt pretty much invincible. For reference, his truck looks like this but in Navy.

if it's an awd astro, the modifications could be quite simple, no?

^ pretty much, just like lifting a truck.

Some of the vehicles in this thread are just pure awesome. (the vans not so much) lol

^ if its a full size Blazer chassis then they slapped the van body on the Blazer chassis so the AWD system would not be there.

Seen a the same thing done with a Camaro body and such.

Not so simple... lots of cutting.

Is that truck from the Top Gear Polar Special from a couple of years ago? Very funny special, well worth the download.

Googled, and it is:

Actually last summer I saw one of those Unimogs at Hyatt Mercedes downtown with euro plates and ran into the owner while he was getting parts or something. The guy was from Germany and got the Unimog shipped over here so he could travel across North America for 6 months.

Pretty cool!

I'd hate to be behind that thing when there's gravel on the road, pretty cool though.

I've always thought it was illegal to have wheels wider than the fenders, but I've been seeing it a lot lately, so was I wrong?

i don't think it got changed.

back in the day, with my old 4x4, i swapped out my axles and put on some + offset rims. a few months later, i got stopped by the RCMP and was given a ticket for it. just have to have some mud flaps on that stick out as far as the tire does when on the roads, or put fender flares on.
