Oh yeah forgot to add, it also has the larger battery (8 or 12 cell?) Lasts quite a long time :thumbsup:

So they extended the warranty by an extra year for this problem specifically but this one is likely out of warranty regardless of that as well. My ex girlfriend's Compaq v6000 died from this and also my other ex-girlfriend's HP dv2000 which used the exact same motherboard also died. Just wouldn't turn on one day.
Just a heads up for people.
