If you're an AMA member you can access the online Canadian black book (trade in prices - Ontario centric, they say to add 10% for Alberta) and Gold Book (Used car sale prices by regions -wholesale and retail values). They also link to VMR, which I think is free. Often these three don't agree. On VMR, they say to add 4% to their prices for Alberta.

If you don't have AMA, list the year, make, model, kms and options and I'll look it up for you.

Both GM.ca and Toyota.ca give you free blackbook trade-in price.

The VMR site is quite good too. Value is inline with CBB when you compare the wholesale price.

The GM and Toyota site makes you enter your name, e-mail etc. and sends it to your e-mail. Too much work. Don't want the hassle.

So the VMR site is fairly accurate then?

edit: ah fuck the blackbook site has changed and now they want contact info! how annoying.

Yeah, I just used my dummy email account for it a month or so ago, haven't gotten any spam from it, or anything other than the blackbook quote.

For my Audi, VMR is about 10% lower for the low end price, and 20% lower for for the high end, compared to blackbook

edit: and about 50% lower than what people are selling for on CanadaTrader

VMR is out to lunch

there wholesale and retail pricing is out to lunch. In Alberta we end up getting more for our vehicles
