View Full Version : What Comedy Stand-up would you like to see

LadyLuck

Ok Folks,

We've got the Jack Singer concert hall booked for April and we're looking to do a Comedy Stand-up or Speakers that month.

We are considering every option and opinion. Im interested to see on who you would like to see in Calgary.

Last year we did Kevin Smith, which was a pretty great turn out.

Dave Chapelle is not available, and Seth McFarlane (Family Guy) has started writing and is not touring right now.

so...WHO do you wanna see!?

Robert Kelly

For those that remember, he was the 2nd comedian the night of Dane Cook, and the funniest fucking guy there.

Speaker?

Joe Simpson if he does this type of thing. He has a couple of films on mountain climbing, telling of good climbs gone really, really bad. As well he has written a few books, the most famous I would think is "Into the Void".

Howard Marks, he wrote "Mr. Nice", a true story of his life as the biggest drug dealer in the world at the time. Great read, it must be 450 pages and I read it in a day. Was to be made into a movie as well.

Jack singer holds 1800 people, and theres only so much you can charge for tickets. Plus flights, accomodation etc, which is not included in the performance price.

I watched the show on Sunday night too, the man just keeps going and never stops

Theres plenty of comedians that are between the $30-50,000 range. Katt Williams is one of them.

Seinfeld was here in June and playing in Vegas in July. Definitely still does shows. Absolutely hilarious. Still can't believe how funny he was. Seeing Russell Peters a week later was actually disappointing by comparison.

To add some content: Would love to see David Cross, Jim Gaffigan, or Brian Regan.

George Lopez?

I don't think Larry David does stand up (not counting the pilot of Curb), I think that was way before Seinfeld, even then I don't think he was the greatest at it, told jokes and if you didn't laugh he'd literally say, "fuck you" LOL. Story goes, he wrote a bunch of jokes as a bday present poor as hell looking for heated alleys in NYC in case things turned for the worse) but sucked at telling jokes, so Jerry told them and had a standing ovation at the party.
