View Full Version : New Facebook Privacy Settings
Does anyone know how to hide your friends list from friends with the new settings released today?
You can't even disable 'Add Friend' option or 'Send a Message'.
As far as I've seen, the new settings combat third party applications but were actually counter-productive otherwise.
Why the need to hide friends list pr disable friends add button.
You anti-social brah?
Seems to kinda lose the whole point of facebook with that

Its a 'social networking site'.
Meant to reconnect you with friends, etc...
I can see the reason to switch off/block apps.. i cant stand these, but to block friends list, that seems to be going a little too far.
What's to hide... You FBI?
People always stalk on Facebook, I only use it for networking while limiting most of its features.

You only have the option of letting 'Everyone' or Friends of Friends see it.
You can no longer disable it.
Does anyone know how to prevent pages from being displayed?

I want to disable that too, but no luck
So far you can only choose only friends and select specific people to not see your friends list
Don't see what the hurt is in adding the featuer

If you click on your profile and scroll down to your friends list there is a paint brush. Click on that and an edit box appears, you can now uncheck show my friends in profile. I hope this helps.
EDIT opps guess I should have read the post above since it was already answered

You shouldn't have to resort to using workarounds, but you could create a List, with all of your friends and select "Edit Custom Settings". Under "Except These People", select that List.

WTF....who do you need to hide all these things from. If the content on your page is not showable to everyone you accept as a friend...obviously you have a problem

Oh, at the time I posted that, I saw the old privacy interface. Just got the update. Damn.
Did anyone find out how to prevent your profile picture from being displayed from 'friends of friends'? (While that is certainly not the case).
Does anyone know if Facebook will be reversing some of the settings they implemented?

your profile picture is available to everyone, not just friends of friends. you can control if they can click on it to enlarge it, though, by changing the privacy settings of your profile picture album.

no, they won't be. sure there's been a bit of backlash, but they only implemented the pencil trick for hiding your friends list. you can check www.allfacebook.com, it's a blog that updates fairly regularly on facebook news. everyone will just have to get used to not being private anymore.
