Hi All,
I'm a new user to this site and I had a question, where does everyone get their wheels specifically. Do you all order them from the US or somewhere in Can.? Or do you get them at boutiques in your home city? I live in Calgary, where is the best place to get the best price on a set of wheels and rubber?

Thanks in Advance and see you on the street.

OK all thanks for the info, ill check these sites and stores out. I have just a few more questions though if you guys don't mind. I'm looking to get a set of 18s. Does anyone have any suggestions? I am not looking to spend more than 2500 once everything is said and done. Is this possible and if so, what good rim can i get into for less than this cost?

Tunerworks, got my rims from there and they look great!

i spent 2700 on my 18's... but i also found a place that will give me my axis 19's complete for 2900
so if you get a good deal , you can get away with 2500

civic_rida

ccr motorsports 1700 for adr or tenzo wheels wit rubber mounted and balanced

HRD2PLZ

Is that $1700 for 18's? I wanted 17's and if they are cheaper than that I am all over that!

ConVict

ok unless they are 16's and the rubber comes from walmart how can it be 1700 for rims...
i might be wrong and your giving the best deal known to man kind but come on!
and are tenzo good quailty, ive seen some here and there, and they look pretty cheap

OMOYYC

Definately don't get too cheap of rims. I'd stick to at least $380 / wheel and $240 / tire for 18's

Any suggestions to start looking at guys?

Things you got to figure out:

1) Mesh Wheels or Spoke wheels
2) If Spoke wheels, then single spokes or double spokes
3) Single piece or double piece look

Hope this will help you narrow down your choices.

pinoyhero

Single spoke and dont really have much preference of no. of pieces, I think that's what I'm after.

OMOYYC
08-31-2002, 03:39 PM
Well, the number of pieces is not the matter, but the look with the Rivits(sp) or without them.

OMOYYC
08-31-2002, 03:40 PM
Oh yeah, do you like thin or thick spokes?

P.S. Multi-piece wheels are very $$

OMOYYC
08-31-2002, 03:44 PM
Yeah their wheels are nice, but I don't think they suit a BMW though. They'd be awesome on Jap Imports.

Well I dont really have too much preference on the rivets or not, but I do like a wheels where you can see through it. So the thin spoke are nice but a clean thick spoke would interst me as well.

Check a few sites, find the rims you like, and then ask Rob how $ they are.

I will let you know if I find some that you might like.

Thanks I would appriciate suggestions because I don't really know where to start. Furthermore lots of sites don't post prices. I don't want to go to the tuner guy preparing to spend 2000 and get a quote for 5000!

OMOYYC

You have 1 thing going for you, at $2000, you don't have a lot of choices for 18"s

What you need are:
- 18x8.5 wheels
- 235/40/18 Tires

If I were you, I'd find the tires I want first, because there are much fewer choices, and from there, subtract from your total budget and work from there.

Recommended tires:
- Pirelli P7000

OK thanks for all the info so far, I still just want some ideas for rims, PLEASE. Also you mentioned that my choices are limited in the 2000 dollar range but it sounds like I do have some choices. Again I am requesting some specifics, like what exact choice do I have.

So hard to say, its a very personal thing.

Personally I like multi-piece "look" wheel or mesh wheels. What colour is your car?

What about for me? I want 17's on my 99 Accord EX sedan. I think I want 5 (split) or 6 spoke rims. I don't even know what the difference between 1 and 2 piece wheels are...:dunno:

pinoyhero

Hey all I just wanted to crank this noe up again see if anyone has any opinion, saw a company called edge tracing in beemer magazine advertising, anyone heard of them. Their rims look great but I'm not sure about quality, prices are pretty dame good too.

pinoyhero

how can i tell if they are crap i have heard that some rims bend easier than others, what determines quality when it comes to rims.

PS they said they ship to calgary and would cost about 150US for a set of 4 wheels and tires.

Sounds like i may be making a late season purchase at those prices, any favorites or suggestions, i like the split 5 spoke dark ones.

Not as nice as the Rondells, but not as expensive either :) If it were my BMW, I wouldn't put the Flik's on it...

Rob,
Obviously you know who this is, do wheels go on sale at all during the winter or am I stuck dreaming about what I'm going to get in the spring?
