Odd that I started a thread with this same title this afternoon and it was deleted within 2 hours.
Anyhow, being a somewhat casual poster in these forums now for about 6-7 months I have noticed that now it's firmly winter that a surprising amount of threads continually get hijacked by the winter tire debate. As a newbie here, I have to wonder if it's been this way every winter season of the past on the beyond.ca forums - that is to find multiple threads being hijacked by the winter tire debate?
These hijacked threads often get quite heated and most of the combatants seem unable or unwilling to produce posts that are actually relative to the thread's actual intended topic. As a result, a good many threads become irrelevant with respect to their original topic and quite often those threads are in that state by the end of the first page of posts in that thread.
Now that's not to say that I don't enjoy reading these pissing matches, but the continual winter tire debate hijacking is taking away from the overall value of the beyond.ca forums - it's to the point that I almost expect to see a "What kind of doll should I get for my 6 year old daughter's birthday" thread get hijacked by the winter tire debate. Yupp, to a newbie the hijacking has almost become that prevalent.
Anyhow, almost enuf venting and to some of the beyond.ca old timers - is this what us newbies can expect to see every winter? Or is this winter just different?
