An E36 is a 3 series, so that is an M3.

He's looking for the 2001-02 M Coupe, with the E46 M3 engine (S54) engine. Pretty rare and sought after.

There were only 690produced for the North American market from 2001-2002.

Yeah, I know what the '01-'02 M Coupe is... I love those cars! It's based on the E36... if you want to get technical is't an E36/7. Both the E36/7 and the E86 M Coupes used the S54 engine.

Not to be a dink but the Z3 Coupe and M Coupe is E36/8.
The Roadsters are E36/7.

Wicked cars, the M Coupe. I have owned two of em and regret selling them. There is a guy who is selling his black S54 M Coupe, 29K miles, for $20,900 USD in Cali... Look on bimmerforums.com for that one, its the one to get and an excellent deal.

Do it. No duty when you import these machines as they were built in the US!!
